The music experts at RTRFM have handpicked more than two dozen amazing local music acts to play their iconic annual fundraiser In the Pines on Sunday 21 April.

Returning for its 31st consecutive year in the idyllic surrounds of UWA’s Somerville Auditorium, In the Pines is the most important day of the year for any self-respecting music lover in Boorloo.

Twenty of the state’s best loved artists—including the established and the emerging—will play across two stages inside the Somerville, while eight of our favourite DJs spin the decks on Riley Oval next door.

Join us to witness this annual snapshot of Western Australian music, with acts including:

Boox Kid // Butter // Cold Meat // Corella Saxophone Quartet // De Cuba Son // Echo Omen // Dennis Cometti // Didion’s Bible // Gaoled // Heathcote Blue // Hector Morlet // The Krui3ers // Odlaw // Paint // Randa and the Soul Kingdom // Rat Columns // Ruby Pettit / Suneater // SUPEREGO // TAB Family.

Alana Joy // Cooper Cooper x Nicole Filev // Ernest and Young // Livvy Ratbag x Ornette Coolman // YESNA.

In The Pines is a celebration of local music, bringing together some of the best talent from our town and sharing it with the people of Perth for one amazing day and night. The event also raises essential funds for RTRFM, allowing the not-for-profit community station to keep platforming local arts and culture for another year.

In the Pines 2024 brings you some of the state’s most promising new acts, including Ruby Pettit, Paint, The Krui3ers and TAB Family, plus longtime faves Boox Kid, Butter, De Cuba Son and Odlaw.

We get a bit loud with Cold Meat, Gaoled, Suneater and Dennis Cometti, while making time to get a little experimental and ambient with Corella Saxophone Quartet, Heathcote Blue, Hector Morlet and Echo Omen.

And we go large with party-starters Randa and the Soul Kingdom, Rat Columns, Didion’s Bible and SUPEREGO.

On Riley Oval catch some of the city’s best selectors: Alana Joy, Cooper Cooper x Nicole Filev,  Ernest and Young, Livvy Ratbag x Ornette Coolman and YESNA.

In The Pines is the perfect snapshot of WA music over the last year, but it’s more than simply a day of music. There’ll be food trucks and coffee from Murphy’s Spuds, Chubby Dumplings, Charlie’s Pizza, Tommy’s Tacos and Baked and Loaded, as well as drinks from Whitelakes Brewing Co, Shelter Brewing, Vino Volta, Whipper Snapper, Kimberley Rum Company  and Little Things Gin. In 2024 we will also introduce our sensory zone in collaboration with Enable WA; a space for neurodivergent punters and those who need a break from the noise to chill out.

With 10 hours of local music and eight hours of DJ magic in the stunning and serene surrounds of Somerville and Riley Oval, In The Pines 2024 is the perfect place to picnic with friends, take in some of Perth’s exceptional musical talent and enjoy the party!

We’ll be broadcasting all the happenings live on your radio from 11:30am - 10pm at 92.1FM, and on digital and online at

Kids under-12 are free. Kids between 12 - 18 must buy a ticket and be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Gold Subscribers to RTRFM enter free; you can grab your ticket via Oztix using the code on your Gold Card. Companion card holders can also enter free.

In The Pines is proudly supported by City of Perth, Whitelakes Brewing Co, Shelter Brewing Co, CCA Productions, Vino Volta Wines, Whipper Snapper  Distillery and Beerfarm.

There will also be a sensory zone managed by Enable WA which will be on hand for people who need a break from noise and over stimulation.

Some flashing lights will be in use but no strobe lighting will be on site. Auslan interpretation will not be available.
