In the Pines is the perfect snapshot of WA music over the past year, but it’s more than simply a day of music. There’ll be food trucks and coffee from Chubby Dumpling, El Aleman Loco and Mr Goz as well as drinks from Whitelakes Brewing Co, Shelter Brewing, Blind Corner, Whipper Snapper, Kimberley Rum Company and Margaret River Brewing Co.
In 2026 we welcome back our sensory zone in collaboration with Enable WA supported by new major sponsors The University of Western Australia; a space for neurodivergent punters and those who need a break from the noise to chill out. The University of Western Australia joins City of Perth as In the Pines’ major sponsors, supporting local, independent and diverse voices in the heart of the City.
With 10 hours of local music in the stunning and serene surrounds of Somerville, In the Pines 2026 is the perfect place to picnic with friends, take in some of Perth’s exceptional musical talent and enjoy the party!
We’ll be broadcasting all the happenings live on your radio from 11:30am - 10pm at 92.1FM, and on digital and online at rtrfm.com.au.
Kids under 12 are free. Kids between 12 - 18 must buy a ticket and be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Gold Subscribers to RTRFM enter free; you can grab your ticket via Oztix using the code on your Gold Card.

SAFETY AND ACCESSIBILITY:
RTRFM events aim to be a safe space for self-expression, fun and community. Your safety is our number one priority. We will not tolerate any unfriendly, aggressive or offensive behaviour. If you feel unsafe or uncomfortable at any point please speak to an RTRFM or the venue staff.
In The Pines is fully accessible with paths and hard compact ground in most areas. Entrances and exits are 3m in width and accessible toilets are available for use. There are grassed areas and RTRFM volunteers and staff will be on hand to assist where needed.
We will also have clearly visible Pines Pals around the venue to help with any accessibility needs, including helping order and grab food from food vans which will be at a height, point out the toilets and maneuver around people where needed. There will also be a sensory zone managed by Enable WA which will be on hand for people who need a break from noise and over stimulation.
Some flashing lights will be in use but no strobe lighting will be on site. Auslan interpretation will not be available.
If you have any accessibility enquiries please email admin@rtrfm.com.au

- BYO Food. You can bring a picnic but we also have food trucks on site.
- You can bring a camping chair and picnic rug but please set up towards the back of the audience area.
- UWA is a non-smoking campus. Please refrain from smoking on site.
- Please note, UWA has changed the surface of the main space at the Somerville Auditorium from a soft mulch to a harder pebble. This is for many reasons but mainly due to drainage in the winter months. With that in mind, please bring some extra cushions if you plan on setting up a picnic.
- No dogs allowed.
- All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
In The Pines is a live music gig and may get loud. We will do our best to make sure the volume stays at an acceptable level. We will have ear plugs at the merch desk.
In the Pines is an LGBTIQA+ friendly and safe event. There will be no place for anti-social behaviour and there is a zero tolerance approach to discrimination or harassment. If you feel at any point unsafe, please approach a member of RTRFM Staff, UWA Staff or Security. Everyone has the right to a good time no matter how you look or express yourself!
Getting in:
If you have bought a ticket, head to the online ticket desk to check-in and grab a wristband. This will allow you to come and go from the venue all day. If you are feeling unwell, please do not attend the event. If you need a refund drop us a line after the event. Entrance is at the Somerville Auditorium behind the sport center and the tennis courts. The best parking is in Carpark 1 or 5 or on Hackett Drive.
Once you have your wristband you will be able to enter and exit the space as much as you like via the main entrance and via the walkway adjacent to Riley Oval.
The Somerville Auditorium is located close to carpark one which is accessible from Mounts Bay Road/ Stirling Highway entrance. If you are parking in the main car park off Hackett Drive it is across Riley Oval (Behind the University Club) and on the other side of the Octagon and Dolphin Theatre.
Gold Subscribers:
If you have registered for a ticket, bring that on your phone or print out and have it scanned. If you have not, you can bring your card to the Gold Subscribers point. Note we still need to abide by capacity limits so tickets on the day are limited.
Companion Card holders/accessibility:
Those with Companion Cards can enter for free. In the Pines is wheelchair accessible. You can also receive support from our Pines Pals, who will be on hand to assist anyone who needs some extra help. Look out for the orange hi-vis vest and let them know if you need anything.
An important note about kids attending In the Pines:
Kids under-12 are free (no ticket required). Kids between 12 – 18 must buy a ticket and be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Please make sure you are with your kids at all times. This includes those aged 12 – 17. In the Pines is a licensed event and although we welcome kids it is not designed for children and anyone underage must be with you at all times. Please do not allow them to run around the venue out of your sight. They will be brought back to you and if it continues during the day you may be asked to leave. This is a condition of our licence and security concerns. We encourage families to enjoy In the Pines together, but please ensure you are monitoring your children at all times.
Sensory Space thanks to Enable WA and UWA.
This is a space set up in the art garden of UWA, adjacent to Riley Oval. The space is to the right as you are leaving Somerville Auditorium past the two large buildings (Dolphin and Octagon Theatre) on the left hand side.
You can also access that space via a wristband only entrance and exit adjacent to Riley Oval on the far side of Somerville Auditorium.
The Sensory Space is a place for those that need a break from any noise or the event as a whole. A place to relax and catch yourself before getting back to enjoy the music. For those with neurodivergent disabilities but also for everyone.
By Car:
You can drive as there is plenty of parking on Hackett Drive and in UWA. ACROD Parking is available in Carpark 1.
